The language entirely changed when it came to smoking weed

When I was young, as well as when my kids were kids, smoking pot was pretty much just that – smoking pot.

  • The people who used recreational marijuana were referred to as potheads or druggies or just losers.

Whether you referred to the activity as trying the Mary Jane, blazing the weed, smoking the ganja, or just smoking pot, the stigma was regularly there. When all the druggie potheads talked about having legal marijuana stores, they were laughed at. Everyone realized, when they would say the bunch of us should make their wildwood weed legal for medical purposes, that they were just being total potheads. Then, though, more sophisticated people started enjoying the use of recreational marijuana, as well as they insisted that the blessed weed must have medicinal value. There began the change in language that has resulted in legal medical cannabis use all around. If you have a medical condition such as MS or fibromyalgia or cancer, there is honestly no stigma at all around using medical marijuana. Those same smart people have stopped using the terminology “smoking weed,” as well as have instead begun to call the act “using recreational marijuana.” This straightforward change in language has people coming up with images of men in suits taking it easy at a conference table as well as toking ever so delicately on recreational cannabis flower. That is the opposite of the connotation of pulling on the weed, which makes me easily think about losers in tie-dyed shirts kneeling around a dirty kitchen enjoying their number one pastime. Smoking pot has a much better reputation now that people are referring to marijuana as medical marijuana as well as smoking pot as partaking of recreational marijuana.
