There’s no need to be in pain

For three years I was the star driver for my local pizza delivery shop. It was an independent store, not connected to any of the major pizza delivery chains, but it had a good local rep and did great business. I worked there 40 to 60 hours a week, depending on how busy it was, and was the only driver my boss could always count on. The tips were okay, but the pay was pretty good so I worked hard. After a while, I started to get bored of the job, not to mention was thoroughly sick of the smell of pizza. I managed to get an interview with a local marijuana dispensary that was thinking about starting a delivery service. My reference from the pizza manager was glowing, of course, but I really wanted to impress the marijuana dispensary manager and make a good impression. I told her how seriously I took my job, how well I knew the town, and that I rarely ever partook of cannabis myself. She explained to me how one of their cardinal rules was to never “get high on your own supply” and use cannabis while at work or behind the wheel. I guess I made the right impression, because the very next day she called me back and offered me the cannabis delivery driver position. I was thrilled to start working at a new place, because even if my job would be quite similar, the world of the legalized cannabis industry was new to me, and I found it all very interesting.
