Some people move to using edibles after quitting smoking cannabis

I’m proud of my friend John who quit drinking four years ago.

He fell into alcoholism when we were in high school because his home life was rough and it was one of the only forms of escape that he had at his disposal.

The first time I tried alcohol was with John at a party during our senior year in high school and I think I threw up at the end of the night. I barely made it back to my house without falling over on the front lawn. Luckily my parents were asleep and I got to my room without making a ton of noise. I drank on and off over the years after this point but I always had slightly negative experiences. John on the other hand quickly turned into an addict. He was drinking every single night and it was having a serious effect on his performance in school. Instead of drinking, I am a cannabis user. But like John, I was addicted to something that is unhealthy, which is smoking. Physicians know that it’s much more healthy to consume THC and CBD orally or transdermally compared to smoking it through combustion of the plant material. Burning plant matter of marijuana flower buds releases carcinogens into your lungs. I use cannabis edibles now as a way to use marijuana while avoiding the negative side effects of smoking the plant. Vaporizing is much better than smoking, but I have tried to avoid any inhalation products, even if it’s vaporization. Cannabis edibles are easier to dose as well, as you can measure the exact amount of cannabinoids in each serving.
