I don’t have a washer and dryer in my apartment.
It costs $75 extra every month to have a washer and dryer, and I can’t afford to pay the extra rent.
It only costs about $40 to wash all of my pants, shirts, socks, and underwear at the laundromat. Unfortunately, sometimes the laundromat is busy and filled with people. There are two laundromats in town, but I always visit the one that is closest to my apartment. It’s only a couple of blocks away, so I don’t have to worry about getting a cab or an uber. I have a rolling laundry cart that makes it very easy to take my clothing back and forth to the laundromat by my apartment. Last week, I went to the laundromat on my day off. It was a Tuesday and I didn’t expect the laundromat to be filled with people. There was a group of guys sitting out front and they were all smoking weed. They weren’t even trying to hide the pre-rolled marijuana cigarette. They sat by the front door and the smell of marijuana filled the entire laundromat. I wanted to complain about the awful stench, but the group of five guys looked really big, mean, and menacing. I had to use the washers and dryers on the other side of the laundry room, because I didn’t want my clothing to smell like marijuana. If I went to work smelling like weed, my boss would surely want to give me a drug test. Even though I would pass, it’s still a huge pain in the butt.
