So now I know.
Until just a month or so ago, I had yet to go inside a cannabis dispensary.
The state I live in recently changed the laws to allow for access to cannabis dispensaries for those who sole purpose is to get recreational marijuana. That was a big change and those of us who worked so hard to get out the vote rejoiced when the new cannabis laws came into effect. Yet, when the first cannabis dispensary finally opened in town, I wasn’t there for the grand opening. While I have enjoyed recreational marijuana in my life, I’m actually not that big of a cannabis user myself. However, it was egregious that something as poisonous as liquor could be sold but cannabis was illegal. It made zero sense to me and there were too many people suffering that medical marijuana could help. And there were too many people tied up in the legal system for simply possessing marijuana. It was an arcane law and I’m honored to have been a small part in seeing realistic cannabis laws instituted in this state. But I finally went into the local cannabis spot to see for myself. I was blown away by all the different cannabis products for sale. It was incredible. I don’t know exactly what I was expecting but it wasn’t what I discovered. The sheer variety when it came to just indica and sativa products was remarkable. Then there was an entire and complete aisle for just cannabis edibles. It really was a thrill to see such a great marijuana business in action. And I even bought a bit of my favorite sativa strains for sale.
