I was podcasting long before it became an actual trend, before most people & their mother had a podcast! I used to feel entirely special, basically like I was on the cutting edge.
Now I’m just another drop of water in the podcast sea.
It is getting more challenging to stand out, so I decided to switch up my show a little bit & try something new. If I was no longer growing, that meant I needed to shake things up & take a major risk. Switching to a current show format might not pay off, however anything was better than stagnation. My show has always been about cannabis, because that is something I am incredibly romantic about. My upgrade to the show has me smoking odd “famous” kinds of marijuana live on the air & giving a review in real time! When I say famous I mean the name-brand strains & blends that are commonly sold in cannabis dispensaries all across the country. Many major chains of cannabis dispensaries use the same vendors & growers, which means some kinds are available to thousands of people! Every episode I select an odd kind of cannabis, smoke it in a pipe & also in a joint, & discuss it as I go. Much to my delight, my cannabis reviews have started to move the needle & acquire me some current listeners! Moving forward, my only real concern in the future with making current episodes will come when I run out of odd cannabis strains for me to review, however that will take quite a sizable amount of time!
