Grandma just wanted the smokable stuff.

I never really thought of my grandmother as once being 21 like I was.

Grandma was almost 70, she was still pretty cool.

Last week, she asked me if I would drive her to the marijuana dispensary. She caught me off guard. I knew grandma couldn’t drive anymore because she was going blind, and she often asked me to take her places. I was stunned that she wanted to go to the marijuana dispensary. Grandma rolled her eyes and asked if I had a problem with taking her to the marijuana dispensary? It wasn’t a question of if I would. I just wanted to know why? I guess I never thought of my grandmother as a pothead. When she told me she and grandpa had been using pot long before my mother was born, I was speechless. She patted my hand and told me not to worry, because she gave up smoking pot when she was pregnant. She would never use marijuana products around the kids, but now that everyone was out of the house, grandpa was gone, and I was over 21, she wanted to get some marijuana. With all the aches and pains she had from arthritis, she knew the marijuana would help. I took grandma to the marijuana dispensary, and I felt like I was on a field trip with the kid. When the budtender asked grandma what she wanted, she told him to give her the smokable stuff. The look on the budtender’s face was priceless. He asked me if she was really my grandmother, and I nodded. He gave us both the thumbs-up and showed grandma all the different smokables they had.
