Had it been 6 or 7 years ago, I probably would have added my voice to the negative reaction to having recreational marijuana be legal.
And I probably would have been really upset that a new marijuana business was coming to our town.
But that was when I was still so ignorant when it came to the truth about cannabis. I’d been raised in this town when it was far smaller and much more close minded. So I believed all the lies and misinformation when it came to cannabis. I carried those messed up beliefs about marijuana all the way through my adult life as well. When medical marijuana was first legalized, I was mad and against it. I was sure that this would lead to some sort of societal collapse. And then, I saw just how important medical marijuana actually was to a friend of mine who used cannabis during cancer treatment. That changed everything for me and I began to start researching cannabis products for myself. I’m so glad I did because I learned so much about the benefits of this natural wonder. I was amazed to see that humans have used marijuana for five thousand years to help manage and cure conditions. So when recreational marijuana was on the ballot, I voted for it. I’m also very happy to welcome the first marijuana business to town. I’ve completely changed my views on recreational marijuana because now, I know the truth about cannabis. The truth about marijuana is that it has profound benefits that, while different for each person, bring joy and relief to so many. I’ve even gone so far as to go into the local cannabis spot. Perhaps on my next visit I’ll try some purple cannabis to see for myself.
