Isn’t medical marijuana a natural plant product that works wonders?

I was listening to TV the other afternoon and there were two doctors debating the use of medical marijuana. There was one doctor who was talking about all the interesting benefits of proper marijuana use. He said the only negative thing was when people used it only for pleasure. There can be an over-indulgence, and you had to fully understand your limitations. The other doctor started yelling that it was just a legal drug. Well, wasn’t alcohol a legal drug? The doctor prescribed painkillers after I had my automobile accident, but for a little while I was on these painkillers, and I spent such a long time being weaned off them. I had become fully dependent on the painkiller. It was a legal drug that did the same thing as the drugs you chose to get off the street. What I didn’t understand was that the doctor had the impression that it was okay to give you medicine that was manufactured in a laboratory, but he didn’t want people to use a medicine that was a natural plant product. The doctor who was for medical marijuana chuckled over this. He told the other doctor that he had heard he was telling people that vegetarian and vegan lifestyles were perfectly healthy ways of living. He said that since he thought everything plant-based was so much healthier, then he should also be pushing medical marijuana instead of chemical based medicine. The doctor who was against medical marijuana became entirely embarrassed and could not talk. He could not defend himself or deny what the doctor for medical marijuana had just said. He walked off and didn’t come back after this happened.
