I had to go out of town for a business convention and I was gone for 2 weeks.
I was already unhappy that I had to spend two weeks away from my wife and our 6-month-old baby.
I told my boss that I didn’t want to take anything that was going to be longer than 5 days, because I wanted to be there for my wife and the baby. He begged me to go to the business convention and told me that I was the only person that could represent our company. He offered to do whatever it would take to make sure that I was there for the entire 2 weeks. I told my boss that I wanted to take a flight instead of driving 6 hours in a rental car. He agreed to that stipulation. I told my boss that I wanted an upgraded hotel room that was a suite with an area where I could conduct my business. He agreed to that as well. When I got to the hotel, the first thing that I did was go upstairs to check out the suite. I had never stayed in a suite before and I was excited to see what it would look like. The place was humongous and had a king size bed with a separate area that was an office with a computer that was already set up with a special network. The only problem I had was that the hotel room smelled like marijuana. I was in a place with legal recreational marijuana sales and the last person must have been enjoying recreational marijuana in the room. I didn’t want to complain about the smell, so I opened up the balcony doors to get some fresh air inside.
