When I made my first trip to a local cannabis dispensary, I was excited to learn that there was a vape lounge.
I will admit, I had no idea what a vape lounge actually was.
It sounded very exotic and definitely something I wanted to try. I’m rather new to recreational marijuanna and am completely unfamiliar with the terminology. While I’ve found that the budtenders at the dispensary are extremely knowledgeable, patient and helpful, I don’t like to be ignorant and forced to rely on them. In order to not look like a clueless idiot when I arrived, I did some research on the internet. I learned that vaping is a really popular way of taking CBD and THC. The cannabis is contained in a thin, pen-like device and inhaled into the lungs. This method is less odorous, more discreet and less irritating on the throat than traditional smoking. According to what I read, vaping provides much more powerful effects and leads to greater intoxication. There can be potential side effects and the body needs to build a tolerance to it. I worried a little about mistakenly starting out at too high of a dose. I definitely needed the guidance and recommendation of the budtender at the dispensary. He started me out with 2.5 milligrams of inhaled cannabis and made sure I was willing to relax and spend time at the vape lounge to allow the effects to wear off. While there’s some worry over the elevated heart rate and possible anxiety from an intense high, there is zero possibility of a fatal overdose from cannabis use. The vape lounge at the dispensary provides a secure, friendly and welcoming environment. It’s an opportunity to socialize and take a break from stressful everyday life. While I visit the dispensary for recreational cannabis use, I’ve found that it has reduced my number of migraines and muscle aches and I sleep better at night.
